About us

Kaleigh Paplow- Owner and Head Coach

Kaleigh “Coach KP” Paplow is a basketball player, coach, skills trainer, referee, and the founder of Chosen Hoops, a premier youth basketball program based in Colorado. A Colorado native, she attended Horizon High School before graduating from Lutheran High School in Parker, where she won a state championship in 2015.

Coach KP continued her career at Northern Arizona University, competing in Division I basketball for four years. She made school history as the only player to rank among the top ten in five statistical categories — steals, assists, scoring, rebounding, and minutes played. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Health, Wellness, and Coaching.

Following college, she went on to play professionally in Australia, before the COVID-19 pandemic brought her playing career to a close. Out of that transition came the creation of Chosen Hoops, a competitive boys’ basketball program that develops elite players at the 5th through 7th grade levels.

With over seven years of coaching and training experience, Coach KP brings passion, discipline, and leadership to every athlete she mentors. Under her direction, Chosen Hoops has built a diverse and competitive culture, proudly led by two Black women dedicated to developing the next generation of skilled, confident, and character-driven players.

Khia Rasheed- Head Coach

Khiarica Rasheed is a professional basketball player, coach, and skills trainer dedicated to player development and mentorship. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, and raised in Portland, Oregon, she began playing organized basketball at the age of 12. Competing on the Nike EYBL circuit, she captured a national championship in Atlanta with Oregon’s only EYBL team, Team Fast.

Her relentless drive and work ethic earned her a Division I scholarship to Northern Arizona University, where she played for five years and became one of the program’s most decorated athletes. Khiarica ranks #2 all-time in scoring and is the all-time rebounding leader in NAU history. She also earned her master’s degree from the university before beginning her professional career overseas.

Khiarica has played internationally for two seasons in Ireland—winning four championships, a Finals MVP, and multiple postseason honors—as well as a stint in Mexico. Beyond her playing career, she has coached at both the high school and college levels and has led numerous youth camps. Over the past two years, she has focused on individual and small-group player development, where she’s seen tremendous growth in her athletes. Now a coach with Chosen Hoops, Khiarica plays an integral role in building both skill and character in young players. She takes pride in forming meaningful relationships with families and athletes, using basketball as a platform to inspire, uplift, and make a lasting impact—something she expresses deep gratitude for every day.
